Origin of Freedom of Expression Day in Mexico
The origin of the Day of Freedom of Expression in Mexico dates back to the time when Benito Juárez ruled. He legislated and governed so that all Mexicans could express themselves freely. However, this right was repressed in the times of Porfirio Díaz.
It must be remembered that the right to freedom of expression is enshrined in our Political Constitution, specifically in articles 6 and 7. Therefore, on this Freedom of Expression Day it is necessary to say that Mexico must continue to be a country of freedoms. ; a country where criticism, questioning, control and investigation that the practice of freedom of expression entails are not repressed.
