Firefighter's Day is a special celebration of the Mexican calendar that is celebrated every August 22 in our country. The objective of this date is to pay tribute and highlight the work of all those people in this profession, who every day work and risk their lives to safeguard the lives of others, as well as the property of the population, against the risk of fires or any other event of a natural or social nature.
Below we will tell you how Firefighter's Day was born and why it is celebrated.
How was Firefighter's Day born?
Firefighter's Day is commemorated on August 22 because on this date the foundation and creation of the first fire department is remembered, which took place in the Port of Veracruz in 1873. Later, in 1922, The Regulations of the Federal District Fire Department were issued and finally in 1951, it was granted the status of "Heroic Fire Department" by presidential decree.
On this day, the oil industry firefighters (PEMEX), better known as firefighters, are also celebrated.
From here, we send a greeting of congratulations to all these brave professionals who celebrate Firefighter's Day.
